Blogging Marathon # 34 – 3 Day Marathon for 4 weeks!

Day are really flying when I realize the frequency with which I announce the next BM Edition! We are on to our 34th Edition of Blogging Marathon and I can’t wait to announce the themes!

For those of you who are landing here for the first time, then please check out these posts on Blogging Marathon, you can read about all the history, the thought process that’s gone in everything in one place in the BM#18 intro

For details on BM held every month, check out the Blogging Marathon page. Once I get all details I will be updating this page. Bloggers taking part in this marathon need to just link back to this page.
The entry is again by Sign ups and each theme will again have only 4 bloggers on first come first basis. 
And because of the new rules I will not be able to accept late sign ups as it will become extremely hard for me to manage otherwise. If you feel you want to do it, please decide ahead, else you can join later.
Commenting on the week blogger’s post is mandatory.
And subscription to the group will be monthly basis.

So the dates will be:  
3, 4, 5 November
10, 11, 12 November
17, 18, 19 November
24, 25, 26 November
Please email me at latest by 23rd October along with your theme.
FYI:  Requests to join after 23rd October will not be accepted.
Mandatory rules for this Blogging Marathon are as below:
  • Should take up 2 weeks of BM without fail. It can be any two weeks.
  • Will have to post on all 3 days with 2 weeks without fail
  • You cannot take the same themes, except for the different Kid’s Delight theme.
  • Should follow the accepted theme all 3 days, meaning if you choose one topic like Rice, you should post all rice based recipes all 3 days.
  • Should link to the Blogging Marathon page.
  • Is expected to actively give feedback on others post.
  • Mandatory reading and commenting on fellow participating member.
Each theme can be selected by four bloggers on first come first bases. 

Other rules will be mailed to the individuals.
Themes for BM # 34th will be the following:
Since having this theme is to make sure my Kid’s Delight event gets good entries, I thought it makes sense to have two themes based on the hosting time.
Kid’s Delight – Nutritious food for Sport Enthusiasts (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)
Kid’s Delight – Sweet festival dishes for kids (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)

Please note Kid’s delight posts be it for the BM theme or the event, needs to be kid approved. Which means you get your kid, your young relatives or neighbors approve what you have made. Would surely appreciate a note on who liked it and their age group. This way we can tag it properly.

Another thing can be that you as a kid liked the particular dish. Else it will not be eligible for both the events.

Kid’s Delight – Nutritious food for Sport Enthusiasts (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)

Pradnya will be hosting this edition. She is calling for Nutritious food for Sport Enthusiasts

These can include foods rich in proteins, calcium and minerals, which can be building blocks for your child to become a sportsperson.

This can also be fusion food involving innovative recipes where you incorporate health drinks in the dishes, like Bournvita Cake etc.

Kid’s Delight –  Sweet festival dishes for kids (17,18,19 and 24,25,26) 

Sowmya will be hosting the Edition and is calling for ideas that can fit under Sweet Festival dishes for Kids. Other thing that you might have to look out will be the following

It should be sweet only (savories not accepted)
It should be pure veg and no eggs
Cooking should be done in less than an hour

Instant Idlis/ dosas

Normally Idli/Dosa require long hours of soaking, fermentation. Show how this can be reduced and made relatively faster.

Mess Free Tiffin Box 

Dry snacks and dry lunch box recipes (not recipes like rice which spills over)
Essentially what we pack for kids to their school. This can’t be cookies, cakes for all days. It can be light lunches as well. More like sandwiches, rolls etc.

Desserts with Vegetables 

Example you can make any dessert from any county, however all three should not be the same. Like you can’t be doing only halwa for all three days. It can be a halwa, a cake, a pudding whatever. Vegetables for example can be carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, zucchini, etc.

The list of vegetables is not limited to the above, it can be anything.

Vegetables have to be different, can be any cuisine, any form. Meaning it can be indian halwas, cakes, icecreams etc. Examples: Carrot halwa, beets icecream, etc.

Cooking with Fruits

From the listed fruits below, cook any three dishes. It can be any course, any cuisine. Can be in any form. Meaning if you select Mangoes, it can be ripe, raw, puree, slices.

Sweet Lime

Only one fruit to be selected and all three days cook with the same fruit. Again the fruit can be in any form, any cuisine, any course.

Like mango, it can be mango chutney, mango rice, mango ice cream.

Evening Snack

Light snack that can be served during evening times. It can be anything, only condition be that you won’t serve these dishes for other meals. Can be those chats, savory dishes, pastries, puffs etc. Can’t be the same item everyday.

Cooking with Capsicum as main dish

As the name says, you got to feature Capsicum as the main ingredient and cook with it. Again it can be anything, however as the rule, all three days can’t be the same! Meaning it can’t be rice for all three days. 

Special Theme – Do three weeks and for the 4th week you get to do the special theme.

BM Paired: Will be pairing the members and the paired member will cook from the other blog

This is accepted only for the 4th week (and should have done all three previous weeks).
