Blogging Marathon # 42 – 3 Day Marathon for 4 weeks!

We are on the 42nd edition of BM, with some interesting and challenging themes for the month.

For those of you who are landing here for the first time, then please check out these posts on Blogging Marathon, you can read about all the history, the thought process that’s gone in everything in one place in the BM#18 intro

For details on BM held every month, check out the Blogging Marathon page. Once I get all details I will be updating this page. Bloggers taking part in this marathon need to just link back to this page.
The entry is again by Sign ups and each theme will again have only 4 bloggers on first come first basis. 
And because of the new rules I will not be able to accept late sign ups as it will become extremely hard for me to manage otherwise. If you feel you want to do it, please decide ahead, else you can join later.
Commenting on the participating bloggers post is mandatory.
And subscription to the group will be monthly basis.

So the dates will be:  
3, 4, 5 July
10, 11, 12 July
17, 18, 19 July
24, 25, 26 July
Please email me at latest by 23rd June along with your theme.
FYI:  Requests to join after 23rd June will not be accepted.
Mandatory rules for this Blogging Marathon are as below:
  • Should take up 2 weeks of BM without fail. It can be any two weeks.
  • Will have to post on all 3 days with 2 weeks without fail
  • You cannot take the same themes, except for the different Kid’s Delight theme.
  • Should follow the accepted theme all 3 days, meaning if you choose one topic like Rice, you should post all rice based recipes all 3 days.
  • Should link to the Blogging Marathon page.
  • Is expected to actively give feedback on others post.
  • Mandatory reading and commenting on fellow participating member.
Each theme can be selected by four bloggers on first come first bases. 

Other rules will be mailed to the individuals.
Themes for BM # 42nd will be the following:
Kid’s Delight theme ensures my Kid’s Delight event, guest hosted by other bloggers gets good entries. Since the event is 16th – 15th every month, we have two different themes happening for BM. And you have the choice of doing two different themes. 
Kid’s Delight – Iron rich recipes for kids  (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)
Kid’s Delight – Healthy snacks box recipes (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
Please note all entries for Kid’s Delight theme have to be kid approved. The dish can be either approved by your own kid, your young relatives, neighbors or even something that you enjoyed as a kid. Do remember to mention the age group of the kid, so that it becomes easy for others.
Kid’s Delight –  Iron rich recipes for kids  (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)

This edition is hosted by Kalyani and she is calling ideas for all Iron Rich Recipes for Kids. Do check her announcement for more details.

Kid’s Delight – Healthy snacks box recipes (17,18,19 and 24,25,26) 

The next edition of Kid’s Delight is hosted by Nandoos Kitchen. And she wants you to make Healthy snacks box recipes!

South Indian Meal Dishes

Pick specific cuisine from any of the South Indian States (Andhra, TN, Kerala and Karnataka) and prepare 3 authentic dishes that are part of the thali. Please refer to the thalis that are cooked in these states. The dishes be side dish, can be veg or non veg. It can’t be rice or rotis. The three dishes should be part of the regular thali dishes.

All about Millet

Can be any millet, can form, but highlighting a millet for each day. Can be the same millet used for all three days, however in different course of a meal.

Easy Tiffins

As the theme says, it has to be something that is light and served inbetween meals. preferably during the evening to take care of the long break. Should not be simply a fried snack served, should cater to proper meal, can feature a carb based tiffin.

Carb free meals

Well this if for those of you, who want to do Carb Free Meals, be it for dieting or simply wanting to avoid carbs in your meal. Please do dishes that are carb free, however having all vital nutrients to make your diet healthy and good.

Festival Special

We have about three festivals and you can feature a special dish that is surely prepared for each of this festival. You can concentrate either one festival or do all three. The choice is clear, do one or three. And not two and one.

Raksha Bandhan
Ganesh Chaturthi
Krishna Janmashtami

Misc – Food related 

  1. Edible Art
  2. Plating techniques
  3. Behind the scenes in your food shooting

Choose of the above and do the same option for all three days.

All three days have to be from only one option. If you are selecting to do edible art, then you should focus only that for all three days.

Special Theme – Do three weeks and for the 4th week you get to do the special theme.
Mega Marathon Bookmarks

This is special theme for members doing all three weeks, members who choose this theme, can do the bookmarked dishes from any of the previous Mega BMs. (BM#27- Apr, BM#32- Sep, BM#39- Apr)

Please make sure you mention which mega BM it is.

This is accepted only for the 4th week (and should have done all three previous weeks).
