Blogging Marathon # 48 – 3 Day Marathon for 4 weeks!

Sharing is caring!

I am so excited that Blogging Marathon will be entering into its fifth year! What started as an exercise for me to be focus, has now become a way of life. We have seen many different forms, so many different bloggers. I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many different people from different walks of life.

And it’s been a pleasure to say that I have the best of people as my friends, all through BM and all because of BM. We are bond by the love of blogging, about food and we yap on everything under the Sun. I am so proud of my friends, who cook up, take up whatever challenge I have thrown at them. In fact there have been times when I had come up with such tough themes, yet they never complained. They have happily worked on it, with so much dedication and love for their blogs.

To all my friends, who have been part of this wonderful journey, Thank you! You know who you are!

You have brought so much joy, life to this blog and my own blogging life. I consider it as a great pleasure for all the support and love you all have been giving me and my crazy ventures.

Now coming to the announcement, this is for January 2015. For those of you who are landing here for the first time, then please check out these posts on Blogging Marathon, you can read about all the history, the thought process that’s gone in everything in one place in the BM#18 intro

Themes for BM # 48th will be the following:
Kid’s Delight theme ensures my Kid’s Delight event, guest hosted by other bloggers gets good entries. Since the event is 16th – 15th every month, we have two different themes happening for BM. And you have the choice of doing two different themes.
Kid’s Delight – Holiday special recipes (for Christmas and New Year) (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)
Kid’s Delight – Say Cheese (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
Please note all entries for Kid’s Delight theme have to be kid approved. The dish can be either approved by your own kid, your young relatives, neighbours or even something that you enjoyed as a kid. Do remember to mention the age group of the kid, so that it becomes easy for others.
Kid’s Delight – Holiday special recipes (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)

The 1st and 2nd week of December will be hosted by Sandhya Ramakrishnan  She will be announcing the event on her blog by December 16th with theme “Holiday special recipes (for Christmas and New Year)”

Kid’s Delight –  Say Cheese (for Christmas and New Year) (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
The 3rd and 4th week of  December will be hosted by PJ. She will be announcing the event on her blog by January 16th with theme “Say Cheese”. Obviously as the name says, the dish should showcase cheese. For more details, you can check out when she announces the event.
Biryanis of different styles

As the theme name says, all your three day dishes should be Biryanis. I differentiate a Biryani from Pulao as this. A pulao is a mild, one pot meal, that has to be paired with a gravy. Whereas a Biryani is mostly rich, spicy and can be eaten as well, maybe just a serving of raitha should do.

So you can pick up a biryani from different regions, can be Indian, International etc. A typical Biryani is always layered with rich ingredients going in. It can be a vegetarian or Non Vegetarian. There are different Pilafs that are very rich as well, from different countries, even those are accepted. However the only condition being it shouldn’t be a mild rice dish.

Pick one, Do three

From any one of the below wiki pages, select one category, do 3 posts. For example, if you select sauces, then all your three posts should be taken from the list given in the wiki page. You can also do one sauce, one food stubs or bread stub. However two sauces, other one food_stubs or bread_stubs is not allowed. Its all from same category or one from each!

Chat Special

Needless to say, bring them on! I love Chats and would love to see all showcasing chats from different places.

Rolls and Wraps

Under this theme, it is necessary that you have a base filled with stuffing. The base can be a flour based one or a leafy one. However it’s not fried snack. It has to be served as a meal for breakfast/lunch/dinner or a in between filling tiffin. This does not refer to your deep fried rolls etc.

Wraps as it says can be flour based wraps with filing.

Nasta Time

Bring on your Nasta dishes! Nasta typically refers to either Breakfast dishes or evening tiffins. I have known colloquial usage of referring Breakfast as Nasta, I have known some of my friends referring evening tiffins as Nasta. Whatever each interpretation is, you will have to make dishes that are light, yet filling.

It is the typical Indian Nasta, so showcase what you serve at home.

1 Cuisine, 3 dishes

Under this we have the below

American street food
Arabian cuisine
Thai Cuisine
French cuisine

From the 4 listed cuisines, select only one cuisine, and do 3 posts. Each should be different course.

Special Theme – Do three weeks and for the 4th week you get to do the special theme.
Revisiting the old with new pictures
This is a special theme for members doing all first three weeks.
This is accepted only for the 4th week (and should have done all three previous weeks).
Please spread the details if you want your friends to be part of this marathon.
Let’s gear up for another non stop blogging!
