Blogging Marathon # 49 – 3 Day Marathon for 4 weeks!

Sharing is caring!

Wishing all my readers and friends a wonderful year ahead!

Though I am announcing the edition for the next month, I am so excited and happy that Blogging Marathon is entering into its fifth year!

Special thanks to my Blogging Marathon Buddies for making this happen. And for always being there for me.

Now coming to the announcement, this is for February 2015. February will also mark a special milestone for us. We will be meeting up to celebrate the BM # 50. Since March is going to be hectic with school exams etc, we decided to meet a month ahead to celebrate. I simply can’t believe we are so soon celebrating this milestone. When we met for BM#25th Celebration, I was being skeptical when everybody said they should plan big for BM#50 and here we are meeting up for that!

Anyway for those of you who are landing here for the first time, then please check out these posts on Blogging Marathon, you can read about all the history, the thought process that’s gone in everything in one place in the BM#18 intro

For details on BM held every month, check out the Blogging Marathon page. Once I get all details I will be updating this page. Bloggers taking part in this marathon need to just link back to this page.
The entry is again by Sign ups and each theme will again have only 4 bloggers on first come first basis.
And because of the new rules I will not be able to accept late sign ups as it will become extremely hard for me to manage otherwise. If you feel you want to do it, please decide ahead, else you can join later.
Commenting on the participating bloggers post is mandatory.
And subscription to the group will be monthly basis.

Themes for BM # 49th will be the following:
Kid’s Delight theme ensures my Kid’s Delight event, guest hosted by other bloggers gets good entries. Since the event is 16th – 15th every month, we have two different themes happening for BM. And you have the choice of doing two different themes.
Kid’s Delight – Say Cheese (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)
Kid’s Delight – Colourful Dishes (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
Please note all entries for Kid’s Delight theme have to be kid approved. The dish can be either approved by your own kid, your young relatives, neighbors or even something that you enjoyed as a kid. Do remember to mention the age group of the kid, so that it becomes easy for others.
Kid’s Delight – Say Cheese (3,4,5 and 10,11,12)

The 1st and 2nd week of February will be hosted by PJ. She will be announcing the event on her blog by January 16th with theme “Say Cheese”. Obviously as the name says, the dish should showcase cheese. For more details, you can check out when she announces the event.

Kid’s Delight – Colourful Dishes (17,18,19 and 24,25,26)
The 3rd and 4th week of  February will be hosted by Varada. She will be announcing the event on her blog by February 16th with theme “Colourful Dishes”. As the name says, the dish has to be colourful and appealing to kids. However the dish needs to be made without the use of food color.

Desserts in different forms

Do any three from the below list, with different category for three days. The listing has by category and by country. So select to do three different catergory or three different countries.

One vegetable different forms. Can be a curry, dry Subzi or as a bread.

As the name says you can select any vegetable and cook in different forms. Potato is not allowed along with regular onions, tomatoes. However if the dishes are special and rare you can still use onions and tomatoes to showcase how differently it can be made.

Indian Bread Baskets

This theme is to showcase our different Indian Breads. Dosas are included under Indian Bread, however it can’t be made for all three days. The breads can be mixed, stuffed, deep fried and pan fried.

Accompaniments – in a Restaurant

Accompaniments refer to those starters that offered by the hotel on house. Example most hotel offers you fried friyams, masala papads. I was once offered Rasam Idli in Taj. So you can be creative in planning what you can offer that can be simple yet keep the customer occupied when they wait for their order to be served.

Weekend Brunch

Weekends are meant to be lazying around. Still that doesn’t mean you won’t feel hungry. So whip up something that’s elaborate and heavy enough to make it heavy and filling. The dishes should not be simple or light as you might do with your regular breakfast, yet not so heavy as your lunch.

Cooking for 1 / Meal for 1 / Bachelor friendly recipes

As against the previous theme, now is your turn to plan some simple meal for one. Well just because its just you at home, it doesn’t mean you need to starve or not eat a balanced meal. So plan some simple meal for One or even better a meal that a bachelor can cook. I am not saying men can’t cook. Just saying this is a theme for a budding guy to learn to cook.

Special Theme – Do three weeks and for the 4th week you get to do the special theme.
Bookmarked Recipes/ BM Special on BM50 Meet
This the special theme open for those who do all first three weeks. For those who are meeting for the BM#50, this is a special theme to share their experience. For those who are attending the Meet, mandatory first 3 weeks are not applicable.

For all others, this is accepted only for the 4th week (and should have done all three previous weeks).
Please spread the details if you want your friends to be part of this marathon.
Let’s gear up for another non stop blogging!
