This is an announcement for the next Mega Blogging Marathon that will happen during April 2018. It is going to be a mix of themes that will be explained below.
If you are landing here for the first time, just to update you, we are a group of Food Bloggers doing a Blogging Marathon every month for 4 weeks doing 3 days each month. However, during April and September, we do 26 days of nonstop blogging, with Sundays off.
We have been doing the Mega Blogging Marathon since April 2013,
April 2013 was weekly themes.
September 2013 was ABC Cooking
April 2014 was Indian Food Odyssey
September 2014 was Around the world in 30 days
April 2015 was Fire up our Ovens
September 2015 was a Buffet On Table
April 2016 was a Journey through the Cuisines
September 2016 was Cooking Carnival!
April 2017 was AtoZ Baking around the World
September 2017 was Protein Rich Dishes (My choice was AtoZ Bengali Sweets)
Guidelines for the Mega BM are below
The theme is going to be "Explore the Flavours". I have listed about 8 different themes, out which 4 themes will have to be selected by each blogger doing this Edition.
Lunch Box Dishes (Elders)
Breakfasts (International or Indian)
No Refined Sugar or Refined Flour (only baked or typical dishes that are made with alternatives)
No Onion No Garlic
In April 2018, we have 4 weeks. As April 2018 starts on a Sunday, we will be starting the Mega BM from April 2nd and continue through the last Sunday to cover 26 days.
Rules for picking the themes:
1. You can either do 1 theme all month or pick 4 topics and do 4 weeks.
In the above, you can either do ATOZ or random.
2. In the 4 themes, 4 weeks pattern, the themes per week has to be same. Meaning you can't randomly sprinkle the themes.
For example, If you pick Kids Lunchbox, Whole Grain, Street Food, Indian Sweets as your themes,
then for Week 1, (2 - 7 April) it should be only Kids Lunchbox,
Week 2 (9 - 14 April ) will be Whole Grain,
Week 3 will be Street Food
Week 4 will be Indian Sweets
You cannot mix and make it 2,3,4 April Kids Lunchbox & 5,6,7 April as Indian Sweets etc.
The number of dishes each week will be 6, except the last week that will have 8. However, this doesn't apply if you are doing AtoZ random.
3. A relaxation of this Rule 2 is, if you choose to do AtoZ with 4 themes, then you can sprinkle the 4 themes across the weeks.
An example would be: Day 1 - Aloo Paratha (Kids Lunchbox), Day 2 - Barley Drink (Whole Grain), Day 3 - Chana Chaat (Street Food).

Clauses for the Themes
On Breakfasts, you can either do International, that can have 1 Indian or All Indian States. However, whichever you choose you can't repeat the country or state in the series for the Breakfast theme.
For No Onion, No Garlic dishes, the original dish or category has to be something we normally make with both these ingredients. Like in gravies onions and garlic are added. So feature gravies where these two ingredients are not used or skipped. You can also pick breakfast or snacks that fall into this category.
Obviously, this category can't be a sweet.
For No Refined Sugar or Refined Flour - only baked or typical dishes that are made with alternatives can be posted.
For whole grains, you can either do all 6 with whole grains or 3 dishes with flour and 3 dishes with whole grains.
