Mumbai Masala Aloo Cheese Sandwich
Mumbai Masala Aloo Cheese Sandwich is popular street food from the city of Mumbai. These sandwiches are sprinkled with a special spice that makes it more delicious.

For the Stuffing
- 4 Potatoes boiled and mashed
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 4 Green Chillies
- A pinch Asafoetida
- A pinch Turmeric Powder
- Handful Coriander Leaves finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 4 Bread Slices
- Mint Chutney
- Onion Slices
- Tomato Slices
- Sandwich Masala
- Cheese Slices
Making the Filling
Pressure cook the potatoes until soft, peel and mash it well. Keep it aside.
Heat butter in a nonstick pan.
Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Once the cumin crackles, add ginger garlic paste.
Saute well and add the finely chopped green chilies.
Now, add the mashed potato along with salt and turmeric powder.
Combine well and remove.
Making the sandwich
Apply butter to bread slices.
On one side spread a generous layer of green chutney. Layer the sliced onions, tomatoes.
Sprinkle the sandwich masala over the sliced veggies.
On the other bread slice, spread the potato filling and place the cheese slice.
Sprinkle seasonings over the stuffing and press the bread together and toast it in a handheld toaster on the stovetop.
Alternatively, you can also toast on a griddle or a griller.
