Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Rava
  • 1 tsp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Urad Dal
  • Handful Cashew Nuts
  • 3 - 4 Dry Red Chillies
  • 2 - 3 Green Chillies
  • Handful Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

  • You can make the Rice Rava at home else use store bought Rava.
  • Heat a nonstick pan, and ghee roast the rava well. Remove and keep it aside.
  • Heat the pan with cooking oil, add the mustard, urad, chana dal, curry leaves, green chilies, red chilies, cashew. Sauté till everything turns colour.
  • Add salt and water, once the water starts boiling, add the roasted rava and simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 10 – 15 mins. When the upma is almost done, add freshly grated coconut and mix well.
  • Leave it covered for 5 mins.
  • Serve hot with Chutneys.
