Dahi Samosa Chat Recipe | Step by Step Recipe

Ingredients

For the Samosa

  • 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Cold Butter
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Bishop's Weed

For the Samosa Filling

  • 2 medium Potatoes
  • 1 medium Onions
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Peas
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 Cumin Powder (Roasted)
  • 1/4 tsp Whole Cumins
  • 2 tsp Cooking Oil
  • A Pinch Black Salt
  • Salt to taste

For Making Chat

  • 1/4 tsp Chat Masala
  • A Pinch Red Chili Powder
  • Sev as required

Instructions

Method to prepare

To make Samosas

  • Take all the ingredients needed for making the dough and knead to a stiff dough using very little water. Rest it for 15 mins.

To make the Filling

  • Microwave potatoes for 6 mins, peel, and mash.
  • Shell the peas and blanch for 3 mins.
  • Heat a pan with cooking oil, saute onions, then add all the spices, fresh peas, potatoes. Combine everything well. Remove and allow to cool.

To make the Samosas

  • Roll out small balls into a circle. Make a vertical cut in the middle. Place a spoon of the filling in the middle, and close it like you will do an envelope.
  • Seal it on all sides properly and deep fry.

To make the Curds

  • Hung the curds and then beat it with Sugar and Red Chili Powder.

To assemble the Chat

  • On a serving plate, take the samosas, roughly break them.
  • Pour the curds over it, then the tamarind chutney. Sprinkle the chat masala over this.
  • Then goes the sev, finely chopped coriander leaves, and red chili powder.
  • Normally, even green chutney gets added to this. But then, I didn't make it.
