Ingredients

For the Prep

  • 4 Potatoes
  • 1 cup Peas

For the Paste

  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1- inch Ginger
  • 3 Green Chillies

For the Gravy

  • 1.5 teaspoon Cooking Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Handful Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  • Salt to Taste

How to make Easy Aloo Matar

    Prep Work

    • Wash and mark on the potatoes. Microwave for 6 to 7 minutes.
    • Soak in water for the skin to peel away easily. Peel the skin and cube it into 1-inch pieces.
    • Next, wash and take the peas, microwave for 5 minutes.
    • Take the tomatoes and green chilies. Grind to a smooth paste.

    Making the Gravy

    • Heat a kadai or nonstick pan with oil.
    • When it becomes hot, add cumin seeds. When it crackles, add the turmeric powder and coriander powder to the oil.
    • Let the spice powders get fried for a minute.
    • Add the ground tomato paste and let it cook for 5 minutes.
    • Now add the cubed potatoes and combine well.
    • Let it cook on low heat until the oil starts to come out on the sides.
    • Add chili powder and salt. Once you mix well, add the peas and water as required.
    • Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
    • When the gravy comes to a smooth consistency, add garam masala and finally chopped coriander leaves.
    • Serve this easy no onion no garlic potato peas curry with Stuffed Paneer Bhaturas.
