Heat a kadai or nonstick pan with oil.
When it becomes hot, add cumin seeds. When it crackles, add the turmeric powder and coriander powder to the oil.
Let the spice powders get fried for a minute.
Add the ground tomato paste and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Now add the cubed potatoes and combine well.
Let it cook on low heat until the oil starts to come out on the sides.
Add chili powder and salt. Once you mix well, add the peas and water as required.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
When the gravy comes to a smooth consistency, add garam masala and finally chopped coriander leaves.
