Ingredients

For the Paneer Tikka

  • 250 gms Paneer / Indian Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Curds / Yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 2 tsp Butter

For the Green Chutney

  • 1 cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1 cup Mint Leaves
  • 3 - 4 Green Chillies
  • 3 - 4 cloves Garlic
  • Salt to taste

For the Sandwich

  • 4 Bread Slices
  • Butter as required

Instructions

For the Paneer Tikka

  • Hung the curds for 10 mins to get a thick consistency. You can keep it aside for a longer time if you can.
  • Mix the spice powders to the curd and marinade the paneer cubes. Slicing the paneer will be a better option as we are going to stuff between bread slices.
  • Let it marinade for 30 mins. Then, heat a tawa and grease with butter.
  • Cook the paneer along with the marinade on both sides until done. Keep it aside.

For the Green Chutney

  • Wash and chop the herbs.
  • Take all the ingredients and grind to a smooth chutney.

Making the Sandwich

  • Heat a tawa and grease with butter. Toast the bread on both sides.
  • Apply the green chutney on one slice, place the cooked paneer tikka over it.
  • Apply the butter on the other slice and press it down with the butter side down on the tikka.
  • Press well and cook for a minute on both sides, before serving.

Notes

Slicing the paneer into 4 inch length and half inch width would make this an ideal stuffing for the sandwich.
