Yellow Moong Dal Idli Rava Idli is as the name says made with split yellow moong dal and Idli Rava. Making instant Healthy Breakfast with Idli Rava is very easy as it only needs to be soaked for a while and requires no fermentation.
While we mostly make the regular fermented Idlis for breakfast or dinner, we also indulge in these instant breakfast dishes for a variety. It does tend to get boring repeating the same Dosas or Idlis for breakfast.
Yellow Moong Dal is good for Diabetic and while these use Idli Rava, one can exercise moderation and have these for breakfast.
These are part of BM#95, week 1 where I have been sharing steamed dishes. The secret behind this theme was, of course, I ended up having different idli dishes and thought to have a steamed dish theme will help in managing my time this month, where I will be doing the Bake-a-thon on C4AS.
While some might be thinking that I am always prepared with me picking the themes, it is hardly ever the case. I go with the flow and what I read and most times it ends up being a challenge for myself to manage the themes I end up selecting. So there the secret is out...:)
Anyway, I was glad that I was being so smart for once! I hope you enjoyed this series on different idli varieties.

I have never tried idli like this. Adding the moong dal would make the idlis super soft and being an instant idli, it is such a nice recipe to have when we forget the soaking or grinding for the regular idlis.

Interesting addition of moongdal in idli.. Sounds easy to make when we dont have enough time to grind our usual idli batter.
