For the Second day of Say Cheese under BM#49, I have this stuffed cheese paratha. While I have previously made cheese paratha, mixing in the dough and making a masala version, this time I used cheese slice and added spiced potato wedges to make it more interesting. I was prepared to make some elaborate cheese based dishes. However as expected, time never gives us enough time, so ended up making simpler ones again.
The idea for today's dish came when I was reading Priya Srinivasan cheese paratha. I wanted to make it a little more filling, so made spiced potato wedges and stuffed it along with cheese slices.
One big advantage of these simpler dishes is that you can always more varieties in a meal than you otherwise would. Anyway, this was quickly prepared for Konda's breakfast and she loved it.

Stuffed Cheese Paratha with Spicy Potato Wedges

    Ingredients Needed:

    For the Paratha

    Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
    Salt to taste
    Ghee - 1 tsp
    Water to knead

    For the Potato Wedges

Potato, chopped as fingers - 1 cup
    Salt to taste
    Pepper to taste
    Red chili powder to taste

    Cheese Slice

    How to make the Paratha

Knead the flour as you would for regular paratha. Keep it aside.

Peel the potato and cut it into fingers. Heat a nonstick pan and grease with oil. Then add the potato wedges and season with salt and pepper.

    Cook till soft.

Then dust the balls, roll out as discs. Place the cheese slice in the center, top it with potato wedges and enclose the cheese slice, making sure there are no holes.

Heat a tawa, and cook the paratha on both sides.

    Serve with ketchup
