Finally for the Pizza series, I have the Chocolate Pizza. Now chocolates and Pizzas are our favourite. How can I not combine these into one and not make it a hit dish. The moment I decided I would bake one dessert pizza, chocolate naturally came to mind. I had originally planned on making some icing, including fruits etc.
However I can't get myself do the icing part, where I feel I end up serving too much cream and sugar. Afterall all these are anyway included in our diet one way or the other. Why bother adding it as such! And of course the question of creaming it, spending so much time on it. So I always go for simple cakes or bakes. And this was no less. The chocolate chips on top served it's purpose.
I had made last week along with the Roasted Garlic Onion Pizza and Konda simply loved it. While Chinnu refused to have anything to do with this, even though it was looking very sinful with chocolates, Peddu and Konda literally enjoyed every single piece. It was over within minutes. And yes they wanted me to make it again

    Ingredients

    For the Pizza Base

    • 1 & 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
    • 1/2 tsp Instant Yeast
    • 1 tsp Sugar
    • 1/2 cup Warm Water
    • Water for kneading as required

    For the topping

    • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp Chocolate Chips
    • 3 tbsp Condensed Milk

    Instructions

    How to make the Pizza

      To make the base

      • Proof the yeast by adding warm water, sugar to the instant yeast, keep it covered aside for 10 mins. It will froth up.
      • In a bowl, take the flour, add the yeast, salt and enough water to knead to a soft dough. Keep it covered and let it rise. It takes about 2 hrs in this current weather.
      • Once the dough doubles its quantity, punch it again and mix in olive oil and let it rise again.

      For making the topping

      • In a microwave bowl, take the chocolate chips and add condensed milk. Microwave for 2 mins and stir well. Check after a min and if it's not melted, microwave again for a min. The chips and condensed milk gets done by 2 mins.
      • In a deep pan, press down the dough and bake for 15 mins or till done. Once the base is baked, remove, top it with chocolate sauce, top it with more chocolate chips and bake again for 2 -3 mins.
      • Serve hot after slicing.

      Notes

Proofing and bread raising - 2 hrs
Prep for topping - 10 mins
      Baking Time - 15 mins

Chocolate pizza has been on to try list for almost 2 1/2 years! There is this place in NYC that serves everything with chocolate. Whenever I got there, I always order myself some chocolate pizza. I am not surprised Konda & Peddu finished it off in minutes.
