I had a tough time picking up a specific theme while making my Thali Theme. I had decided to do a theme on Regional Breakfast Thalis and a Haridwar Street Food Thali as well. So there was a clash with the recipes I decided to make.
I decided to make this Aloo Tamatar Ka Jhol at the last moment to make up for the gravy side dish. This gravy is very simple to make without onions and garlic. You only need basic pantry spice powders to make this dish.
I served this aloo Tamatar Ka Jhol with Haridwar wali kachori. Since this gravy is very simple to make, I was able to quickly make it while planning other dishes as well.

When I was reading this post on Haridwar Ki Aloo Jhol,I tried to assess the different aspects of the post like the item chosen for the post, its recipe, the presentation and finally the pictures of the dish. While each one demanded attention, what stood out was the vibrant photos in tantalizing colours. Well done Srivalli madam. I keep telling my daughters and grand children that if they run short of ideas of what to cook to reach for your blog to get bamboozled by the wide choice!

Potatoes in any form can never fail. Loving the simplicity of this jhol with basic ingredients. I know these potatoes would taste amazing with poor. Just hoping travel would start and we could plan a trip to this holy city for a food trip.
