Waffle Savory Sandwiches are a delicious dish to snack on or can be served for any meal as it is filling. This savoury waffle is packed with protein and cheese that kids will simply love to enjoy.
When I was checking on what to make for W, I didn’t want to pick up adjectives or go Whole Wheat way. I knew I could do Waffle but again since I decided I wasn’t going to do any sweet dish, I was looking again when I came across a Waffle Sandwich with roasted chicken and potatoes. The pictures were captivating and the whole idea was cool.
So I decided I would something fusion with this idea and decided to make with Besan as the base. Basically, it’s a Besan Cheela made into waffles sandwich with Roasted Potatoes and Paneer. I also added Mozzarella cheese for the extra kick the whole dish will give.
Even though the idea for the whole dish came about many days ago, I just couldn't find time to make it, until one fine evening this week, Konda said she was hungry and wanted cheese something. I decided waffles would be the answer and set out to make.
I had the potatoes and paneer roasted. She likes it best this way and I have followed almost many of the dishes I made this series this way. The thick slices of potato and paneer give a great feel to the dish.
You could easily make it with All Purpose flour, but I wanted it to be quick and chose besan. The only thing to remember is to grease the waffle maker well so that the cheela doesn’t get stuck.
I love Waffles and this Savory Version was my choice in my A to Z International Street Foods. If you are interested to know the Flatbread for W, check this post.
