For C, I have a sweet deep fried Snack made with banana from Côte d'Ivoire. Ivory Coast or Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire is a country in West Africa. It borders Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Ghana; its southern boundary is along the Gulf of Guinea.
It was colonized by Europeans, and especially by the French. Reading on the country, one can see lot of French influence on the country’s cuisine and other neighbouring lands. Reading about the vast history and other cultural changes the country has undergone, I wanted to make sure I keep off lot of the background information, and stick to the food part.
Cassava and plantains are significant parts of Ivorian cuisine. While there were lot of non veg options listed under this country, I managed to stick to the possible vegetarian ones I could make at home, and on top being it a snack for my kids to enjoy. These are also called as Beignets de banane
I came about this recipe from celtnet org for Talétalé / Banana Fritters here and on further search led me to sites not in English. So, I had to limit myself to what this recipe called for. The other sites and videos show the batter being loose and smooth. While the one I made called dough to be made.

Being particular about the texture and the form of the dish is very important. Dough refers to thick hard mix of the flour and batter to something that’s loose and more liquid form. Anyway I had gone and made it as small balls, that were deep fried. These tastes great right out of the pan, and so much like our nei appam, made with ripe banana.
There was so much similarities in this dish and to the one we make at home, that it was hard to convince my folks that I was cooking an international dish.
The only concession I made, was to serve it with chocolate sauce. I wouldn't dream of ever serving our nei appam with one!
Anyway here’s a dose of delicious Talétalé / Banana Fritters as made in Ivory Coast or Côte d'Ivoire

Talétalé | Banana Fritters
Country : C for Côte d'Ivoire / Ivory Coast
Category : Snack, Sweet
Preparation Time : 10 - 15 mins
Cooking Time : 5 -6 mins per batch
Ingredients needed:
Ripe bananas - 1 cup
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Maize flour - ½ cup
Sugar - 4 tbsp
Oil for deep frying
Salt a pinch
How to make Talétalé / Banana Fritters:
In a bowl, peel the bananas, slice and mash well.
Add the flours, sugar, salt and knead to a smooth dough. Since the banana will be very sticky, you will have to add the flours slowly and knead to get the mixture come together as a dough.
Rest for 10 mins, then pinch out small pieces, and shape into walnut-sized balls.
Heat oil to a pan. Add the banana fritters and cook, turning frequently, for about 5 minutes or until nicely browned and cooked through.
Drain on kitchen paper and serve either hot or cold with chocolate sauce
Notes:
In the other recipes that I read later, showed the dough to be more of a batter consistency and drop as a bondas.
The whole recipe is something you can increase or decrease depending on your taste. If the bananas are sweeter, you can suggest accordingly.

Sweet and golden brown. They do look similar to something my mom deep fried with bananas. Some recipes are so close it is hard to guess they are of foreign origin. Nice one

this is very similar to a recipe I have on my blog called tatale from Ghana. This must be the Ivory Coast interpretation of the same recipe but mine has a loose batter and is more shallow fried like patties. However the idea of serving it with chocolate sauce is new to me and definitely worth trying
