Boiled Rice Puttu is a delicious dish you can serve for breakfast or an evening snack. While Puttu is mostly made with raw rice, with boiled rice too it turns out great.
Just like me, Konda also loves Puttu and Amma got a single-serve Puttu Steamer and makes it often for her. While she mostly makes with raw rice, soaked and made it at home, this time she had the boiled rice flour ready. We have to pay extra attention to how the boiled rice soaks and gets ground. Otherwise, it's similar to the way the raw rice is made.
We made this for an evening snack and the hot steaming puttu with fresh coconut was an excellent dish to enjoy.
The easy way to get this done quickly is you can have the flour ready. Freee the flour for later usage. The final dish takes only about 15 mins max for steaming. This is for the second day of BM#96, Week 1 where I am doing Winter Warmers.

This sounds similar to modak. The process for rice flour prep and the coconut/sugar filling. Everything else is different. Very interesting recipe.

Boiled rice is very flavourful than the raw rice flour and I am sure the putty tasted brilliant. A warm bowl of puttu is what we need for this winter.

I love this small steamer. I have the kuzhai puttu type steamer. This is so yum and I am big puttu fan. Never made puttu powder at home. Always get store-bought one. Need to try soon.
