Umm Ali also called Om Ali is a popular dessert from the Middle East. This is a baked puff pastry with condensed milk, cream and nuts. This is also the national dish of Egypt.

I came about this recipe from shenanchie site, however, I also found this in various other middle east blogs, which have such sinful-looking pictures of this dessert. Unlike the American Bread pudding, this is made with fresh puff pastry.

I made it with very a small portion as all were stuffed with all the bread and cookies I have been baking. So I will be baking this again to enjoy on its own.

Umm Ali seems to be a favorite choice among us. Love your single serve version and I might bake it like this next time as it can get a little messy when scooping it out of a large dish.
