    This is a Festival Sweets & Snacks recipe collection of Sweets & Snacks we did from the different Indian States, with a specific theme for each week. While I wasn't prepared for doing it on both blogs, I somehow managed, and here's the final recap!

    We have been doing the Mega Blogging Marathon since April 2013, with the below themes:

    September 2017 was Protein Rich Dishes (My choice was AtoZ Bengali Sweets)
    April 2018 was Explore the Flavours - A to Z International Streetfood on SYL
    April 2018 was Explore the Flavours - A to Z International Flatbreads on C4AS
    September 2018 was "A to Z Flatbreads and More” - A to Z Indian Flatbread on SYL
    September 2018 was "A to Z Flatbreads and More” - A to Z Dosa Varieties on C4AS
    April 2019 was Festival with "Biryani / Pulao / Khichadi" where I did - A to Z Biryani / Pulao / Khichadi on SYL
    April 2019 was Festival with "Biryani / Pulao / Khichadi" where I did - A to Z Quick 30 Minutes Meals on C4AS

    Week 1 - Sweets (Indian Traditional Sweets)

    Arcot Makkan Peda
    Arcot Makkan Peda is a delicious Indian Sweet hailing from a small town near Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It’s a deep fried ball made with flour, Khoya, curd, and ghee stuffed with nuts and soaked in sugar Syrup.

    Burhanpur Jalebi
    Burhanpur Jalebi is a special sweet from Madhya Pradesh, made with Khoya locally known as Mawa Jalebis as well.

    Ghevar is a traditional Rajasthani sweet made during festivals like Teej and Raksha Bandhan. This tricky sweet is made with flour and soaked in sugar syrup.

    Motichoor Ladoo is a delicious Indian Sweets very popular across all states of India. These ladoos are made with tiny boondis made of Gram flour and cooked with sugar syrup.

    Ghotua Ladoo | How to make Rajasthani Ghotua Ladoo
    Ghotua Ladoo is a traditional sweet from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It is made with besan, khoya, and sugar, pound together to form the ladoo.

    Bandar Laddu is a popular Andhra sweet from Machilipatnam. It is made with Besan Chakli pounded with jaggery and made into ladoos.

    Week 4 - Mandatory Week

    We selected seven mandatory snacks that all have to do from the Indian States.

    Day 1 is Andhra - Palli Pappu Chekkalu

    Pappu Chekkalu or Pappu Billalu is a crunchy and crispy fried snack prepared with rice flour and lentils. This is a popular South Indian snack prepared during festivals.

    Day 2 is Gujarat - Baked Handvo

    Baked Handvo | How to make Savory Rice Lentil Cake
    Baked Handvo or Savory Rice Lentil Cake is a Gujarat Special made with Lauki. Handvo is a classic dish from Gujarat. It's more of a savory cake made with rice, lentils, and different vegetables. This can be served for breakfast or as a snack or for any meal.

    Day 3 is Madhya Pradesh - Ratlami Masala Sev

    Ratlami sev is a popular fried crispy snack from Madhya Pradesh made with gram flour and spices. This is a specialty from the city of Ratlam.

    Day 4 is Maharashtra -Kothimbir Vadi

    Kothimbir Vadi is a delicious Maharashtrian savory snack made with besan, coriander leaves, and spices. These are cubed and seasoned before serving.

    Day 5 is Rajasthan - Kalmi Vada

    Rajasthani Kalmi Vada is a typical tea time snack which is deep fried chana dal vada with onions, spices and served with green chutney, and tea.

    Baked Ooty Varkey is a popular snack from Ooty, Tamil Nadu. It's a baked pastry that has mild sweetness, a little salty and very flaky.

    Day 7 is Uttar Pradesh - Dahi Gujiya

    Dahi Gujiya ~ Holi Special Dahi Gujiya
    Dahi Gujiya is a filling stuffed Dahi vada from Uttar Pradesh. Made with Urad dal with a stuffing of nuts and soaked in curds and other chutneys, this surely makes a meal for any time.

    Day 8 is West Bengal - Vegetable Chop

    Bhejetebil Chop or the Bengali Vegetable Chop is a quintessential dish from the Bengals. This is a deep fried vegetable cutlet that makes a sinful dish to be served during evening tea!

      Even without preparation you were able to come up with a fantastic collection without making any compromise. I loved everything, especially the sweets. 🙂 It was fun running the marathon with you as usual.

      Awesome picks - the first week with sweets was a treat ! I loved the Gevar , so well made ! and the Ladoos - all of them stole my heart .
