These Chocolate Crepes are homemade easy to make dish that can get done in under 15 minutes for a quick breakfast, drizzle with condensed milk as a topping.
Though I have been making these chocolate crepes for many years, never realized I haven't blogged about it. Yes, I have Eggless Banana Pancakes, Chocolate Pancakes, Nutella Stuffed Crepe, Nutella Banana Crepe and Pancake with Rose Cookie Batter.
Somehow this instant crepe with cocoa powder I make for the kid's breakfast got ignored.
Very similar to this all-purpose-based crepe or pancakes is this Alle Belle, a Goan Coconut Jaggery Pancake, and this Cachapas, a Fresh Corncakes with Cheese.
With all of us at home, it's been so hectic, and couldn't focus on blogging at all. When my management decided on WFH, we were wondering how we will manage it. It's been three weeks now. Week 1 was so tough and unimaginable. We somehow got through it. Planning meals became a tough chore as I had to manage the household work along with cooking endless meals and snacks.
Though to be truthful, I am yet to bake or make anything at home for their snack. We stocked some snacks for the kids and managed till now. While lunch and dinner were easy to plan, breakfast for the kids became a tough one to decide as they hardly ever eat what I mostly make for us.
At times like those, I resort to making something with chocolate, which never fails and this Chocolate Crepe is the easiest of all. It hardly takes time and is eggless. Kids come back for second and third helping without me prompting.

How to make Crepe
A crepe is a type of thin pancake, made both as sweet crepes and savory ones. Crepes are served with a variety of fillings and toppings. While a savory galette is made with buckwheat flour, wheat flour-based is referred to as crepes with sweet fillings.
In my recipe for today, I have made the base with All Purpose Flour along with a pinch of Baking Soda, Baking Powder. A typical Crepe is made with Wheat flour or buckwheat flour, milk, eggs. You can replace this recipe with wheat flour and it will still taste great.
We have something similar in Indian Cuisine made with both Wheat flour and All-Purpose Flour, except we don't always add sugar. When we make for kids, we add sugar, else it's mixed and made as a savory pancake.

Step By Step Pictures for making chocolate crepe

Ingredients and alternatives
All Purpose Flour: You can replace the All purpose flour used in these crepes with wheat flour as well.
Cocoa Powder: While I have previously used Chocolate Syrup, I have used Cocoa powder. If you don't have cocoa powder, you can use the chocolate compound as well.
Leavening Agent: Since this is almost instant, I have used Baking Soda and Baking Powder. These make it soft and easy.
Sweeter: I used powdered sugar so that I can mix it easily in the batter.
Liquid: I used 2 parts Milk and 1 part water to make the batter.
Serving suggestions
For extra taste, you can drizzle Condensed Milk on top or Chocolate Syrup.
